I've always been interested in crafts and arts, and lately, by surfing through the blogs of crafters, I've been motived and inspired to do some crafting on my own.
I've been sculpting for a few years now, but only during holidays from school and the last 2 years, I must admit I haven't sculped much ... But here's something I sculped in one of my first sculpting days: it's a clay church, baked in raku (gives little cracks and sometimes smoke spots) and its purpose is to put a little light in it.
Here it is:

And the craft bloggers that I've been reading, weren't about clay, but were about stitching, sewing, ... and so on ...
Here are some great links to some great artists:
- Tania Ho at blogger & at flickr
- making a beautiful felt box
- making beautiful elephants
- loobylu
- and so many more! Just search them yourself and you'll find your destiny! =)
I myself came from the clay crafts to the sewing crafts because I'm particarly a fan of felt crafts. I haven't done the actual felting by using a needle, because unfortunately I haven't had much time to go down to the craft shop and get the materials. But someday I will!
In the mean time, I'll just go on fiddling with thick fabrics (left-overs from my mom's sewing projects). Here's what I've come up with this week ...

And ofcourse: every beginning is difficult and I noticed this indeed because the first elephant's slurf was too short so I sewed an extra piece to it, and the second elephant's slurf was too short too, but it was such a huge job giving him four legs that I just said goodbye to a long slurf!
The cow had one leg that was far too short, so I stitched her a longer leg, but it turned out a bit odd, you can see how the first leg is too much backwards. And the cow initially had another head, but it seemed more like a bear's head, so I'm keeping that for another time =)
So for my little projects, now hopefully I'm up to that felt box! But first: schoolwork :( :( :( :(

Wow Nikki, you've been busy :)
I especially like the first elephant (the blue one). It looks pretty impressive!
An,
who is now wondering where Nikki got her 'long slurf' obsession from ;)
